Home About us

A UK agency, run by people who went through this themselves.

Unilight Education places international students at UK universities. We're based in London, registered in England and Wales, and we've been doing this since 2018. Every adviser here has either studied in the UK as an international student or spent years helping people who have.

Why we exist

Nobody explains any of this to you

Our founder arrived in the UK on a language course and spent the following year finding out, the hard way, how much of the university application process is invisible from the outside.

Which entry requirements are genuinely fixed and which are negotiable. What a conditional offer actually obliges you to do. Why some applications get a CAS in ten days and others sit for two months. How to tell an established agent from someone with a mobile phone and a Facebook page.

Nobody explains any of that to you, and the people who charge you the most to explain it are usually the ones who understand it least. We built Unilight Education to do it properly and to do it free — because the universities were always willing to fund the work, and there was never a good reason to bill the student for it as well.

Your adviser

The people you'll actually deal with

You'll be assigned one adviser and you'll keep them from your first conversation through to your first week of term. No call centre, no ticket numbers, no starting again with someone new every time you ring.

How we are paid

Our money, and where it comes from

You're entitled to know exactly how an agency that charges you nothing stays in business, so here it is without the marketing gloss.

UK universities pay recruitment commission to agencies for international students who enrol and complete their registration. The rate is typically between 10% and 20% of first-year tuition, agreed in a written contract with each institution, and it varies by university, by course level and by how far in advance the application is made. We hold formal written agreements with the institutions listed on our Partner Universities page.

We're paid after you enrol — not when you apply, not when you accept, and not if you withdraw. If your application is unsuccessful, we're paid nothing for the work we've done. That's our risk to carry, and it's the correct way round: it means our interests and yours point in the same direction from the first conversation.

Four things we will not do

  • We will not charge you.No consultation fee, no application fee, no service tier, no "fast-track" payment. If anyone claiming to represent us asks you for money, it isn't us — contact us immediately on +44 7956 458768.
  • We will not pay our advisers per placement.Advisers are salaried. Nobody here earns more by sending you to one university rather than another.
  • We will not hide our commercial relationships.Every partner institution is listed publicly, and we'll tell you on the call whether a university we're discussing is one of them.
  • We will not sell your data.Your information goes to the universities you've asked us to apply to, and nowhere else. We don't sell, rent or share enquiry data with third-party marketers.

If the right course for you is at an institution we have no agreement with, we'll tell you that, and we'll help you apply there anyway. It happens several times a month. We'd rather you were in the right place and told someone about us.

Our standard

What you can hold us to

  1. 01

We'll tell you when the answer is no

If your grades, your English level or your immigration history make a course unrealistic, we'll say so at the assessment — not after you've spent three months and a test fee finding out. An honest no in week one is worth more to you than an optimistic maybe.

  2. 02

    We'll give you accurate information

Entry requirements, tuition fees, living costs, accreditation, campus location and progression routes, as published by the institution — not as we'd like them to be. If we get something wrong, tell us and we'll correct it publicly.

  3. 03

We'll never submit anything you haven't seen

You approve your personal statement and your application before it goes anywhere. We will never fabricate a document, alter a transcript, or write a statement you haven't read and agreed to. Doing so is fraud, it ends in a ten-year ban for the student, and no commission is worth it.

  4. 04

We'll stay with you after you've enrolled

Your adviser remains your contact through your first term. Enrolment is when we get paid; it isn't when we stop.

Where our help stops

What we don't do

We don't give immigration advice. Unilight Education is not regulated by the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC) and is not a firm of solicitors. Under UK law, only a person or organisation regulated to do so may advise on immigration matters. We prepare your university application and secure your CAS; questions about your visa route, your eligibility to switch inside the UK, your immigration history or a previous refusal go to an OISC-regulated adviser or an immigration solicitor. We'll introduce you at no charge and take no referral fee.

We don't guarantee admission or a visa. Admissions decisions belong to universities. Visa decisions belong to the Home Office. Anyone who guarantees either is not telling you the truth.

We don't arrange student finance or loans, and we don't provide financial advice about proving maintenance funds. We don't place students in employment or sponsor work visas.

If we get something wrong

Tell your adviser first — most things are resolved the same day. If that doesn't settle it, email complaints@unilighteducation.co.uk with your name, your reference number and what happened.

We'll acknowledge within two working days and give you a full written response within ten. If you're still unhappy, you can raise the matter with the institution you applied through, and — where it concerns how we've handled your personal data — with the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
